Hiking

On MLK day we went to Boyce Thompson Arboretum with the Fox Family. What a great day hiking with friends (practically family). The weather was amazing, it almost seemed like late spring. Check out Zackary, he kept up with the big kids the entire time; hiking, running, and climbing. Matthew, Jacob, and Kathryn all entertained Zackary so much and took such good care of him climbing on the rocks. I guess we no longer need the stroller for him, he's a trooper. Lane got to ride in the Bjorn...he loves it. Yes, his shirt says Go Giants.

Boots

I just had to post more pictures of the boots. I just can't get enough. Playing outside with only an undershirt, diaper, and 'the boots.' Aaron took him upstairs to get a bath and didn't make it very far, only the pants made it off...he showed up downstairs to put on the boots and head outside.

Forced Friends

Check this out. Lane is exactly 1 month older than Baby K. I can't believe the difference. We are talking around a 6lb difference. He's huge! I bet he is thinking "Steamroll!!!"
These are all the children that are going to be 'forced friends' because all their parents are best friends. Suppose they will all like each other? We sure hope so. So far so good, they all play very well together. We really struggled to get all of them in one shot, it wasn't very successful. We were afraid someone was going to get crushed.

Nice birdy

I thought this picture was quite comical. Baby Lane was pretty much flipping me the bird. It looks like the pacifier wasn't exactly what he had in mind.

Into Trouble

I apparently wasn't thinking. I pulled a chair over to the counter so Zackary could help make some frosting for the cupcakes I had to make one night. I taught him a very bad thing, well bad for me, I should say. Now I continually hear the chair being moved over to the counter to get into all sorts of new things that have never been seen before. I keep finding fruit that has a couple of little bits in them. Nice!
This is another daily battle of mine, which Aaron just doesn't understand. You see, Aaron has this drawer, as he calls it, "the man drawer." It has all sorts of NOT child safe items, such as, keys, screw drivers, gum, coins, pens, markers, matches... as you can see in the picture. He was playing with a full box of matches, they were everywhere. I know the kid is already into fire, this is not a good sign.

Razor

Zackary got this little Razor scooter from Uncle Mark and Aunt Celia for Christmas. It took him a little while to figure it out. We actually walked around the block the other day with him walking and pushing the scooter instead of riding it. It took a long time but he was quite proud of himself.

Smiles!

We are officially getting smiles and coos out of Lane, and they are oh so cute. He is seven weeks old now and we can't believe his size. At six weeks he was just shy of 13lbs. Yes, we are gaining a pound a week. He's huge! We love the sturdy baby. I think he is growing so fast because he can't take the torture from the two year old much longer.

Little Otis

I decided to post a picture of Little Otis, Aaron thought he had been neglected on the blog recently. The poor guy can hardly see right now. He is in dire need of a hair cut. But he is just so cute.

My Favorites

My little Zackary. It is unbelievable how much you can love someone. He is just perfect. I couldn't ask for a better child. He brings us so much laughter and energy, everyday gets better and better with him.
This is such a candid shot of Aaron and Zackary. This goes on daily at our house. Playing, wrestling, you name it, it is happening.
Yes, I was captured doing
"So Big"
What peace and joy a new baby brings. Lane is such a blessing to us. He is such a wonderful and happy baby. It is amazing how much love you can give to children... it is endless. I absolutely love being a mom and couldn't ask for anything more.
I am so in love with my family.

Fire!

Boys and fire, what is the obsession? I learned it starts at a young age. Aaron decided to have a "little" fire. Zackary loved it, all he could say was "fire, neat" We all enjoyed the fire for quite a while. Zackary did great staying away, however it still made me nervous. Isn't this a great shot of boys and fire.

New Years Party!

We had a great time on New Years, we had a wonderful dinner at our friends house, we all brought our kiddos and had a relaxing time. Good friends, food, and wine, what more can you ask for. We live just down the street, so of course we took the wagon, baby Lane hitched a ride in the Bjorn. Zackary and Henry made it until midnight with out meltdowns, what little troopers. Zackary started to fall asleep on the way home around 12:30! Does this mean party animal? Happy New Years to everyone!

Baby Lane

This is the most recent photo of Lane, it is really hard to capture a good shot of an infant. He looks like he is smiling but we haven't seen an official one just yet. He is growing so fast and had several nice rolls on his arms and legs. Including a forearm and calf roll. I love the baby fat!

The Wagon

Zackary and Lane got a wagon from Nana and Papa for Christmas. We have enjoyed all the walks we have taken. Zackary is so good about letting Lane take up most of the room. The Wagon spent several days in our house, the minute he saw it we had to take him for a ride. It is now housed in our garage or we would have to walk all day pulling a wagon.

Grandma & Grandpa

This is a beautiful photograph of my Grandma and Grandpa Carlson. Still In Love and holding hands after 61 years. They recently celebrated their anniversary on November 25th. What great roll models for all of us. I hope all my friends and family will feel this way after 61 years.
I love you.

Christmas with cousins

We had both the Allan family party and the Carlson family party at our house this year. Aaron and I enjoy hosting parties at our house, we decided to take on both this year. They both turned out to be a blast and went very well, everyone helped out and made it really easy for us. These are actually my cousins but much closer in age to Zackary, they were having a great time playing in the mud together. What a mess!

Christmas Morning

We had a wonderful Christmas this year, what fun to have kids and see their eyes light up when the get something good. I know every year will just get more fun. Zackary did well opening presents this year, he was pretty into it. Lane enjoyed this nap by the tree and snuggling with Daddy while we opened presents. Zackary got a "manly" cooking set, a play BBQ. He loves it and always says "Bubbas cookin"

Potato Art

This is Zackary's famous potato art. We are taking bids for anyone who would like to purchase a famous potato. You gotta love the randomness of his creations.

Christmas Cookies

Yesterday we had Laura, Glen, and Lauren over to decorate Christmas Cookies. Laura made the cookies and I made frosting. We ended up with brown, bright pick, blue, green, and purple frosting thanks to Aaron and Glen, not really Christmas colors, but it tasted great. Zackary ate more than he decorated. We had a great time and will start making this a family tradition (or joining Aunt Lou's).
