Drive-Ins

Oh man was this a great little celebration.  We celebrated Lane and Zackary's birthday with a drive-in movie party.  Of course, I found the idea on Pinterest and decided to do a few of my own little things to make it perfect for us.  Here is some of the prep work.  Good thing Nana and Papa own a True Value Hardware store and could provide us with lots of boxes.  16 to be exact!

Here are all the give aways.  16 child sized rainbow Afro wigs.  Of course, this was to go with the movie Madagascar 3.

I set up a concession stand for the kids to purchase treats.

I printed up tons of headlights and wheels for the kids to create their very own car to sit in.  I printed up each child a personalized license plate from here.  I had a ton of crayons and markers out for them to get creative with.  And let me tell you was that some good party entertainment for lots of little kids.  They pretty much lined up their cars and waited for it to get dark.

I made mini popcorn cupcakes.  Here are some poor quality party pictures but this is what I have.

(best photo bomb of the night, great job Lauren)

I absolutely love that they all sat there, wearing their rainbow Afro wigs, awaiting the feature presentation.

The boxes also worked out perfect for them to have their very own little chairs that contained there treats and special blankies and pillows they brought.

This is one of the best parties yet.  I keep hearing that the kids are still sitting in their cars at home.  It was a great way to entertain lots of people and enjoy the weather.
Happy Birthday to my special boys!

Happy 4th Birthday Lane

Lane started off his special day waking up to balloons and streamers all over his room.

He got to open his presents first thing in the morning.  He accidentally ripped the wrapping paper before Aaron and I made it down.  I guess he just couldn't handle waiting for everyone to be downstairs before he started.

Happy Birthday to my sweet Lane.  I can't believe he turned 4 already.  He weights in at 38.5 pounds. I must say I have one little strong willed and opinionated child.  Oma and Opa say he is just like his daddy was!  Lane cracks us up everyday and also provides us with lessons in patience.  I can't tell you how much I love this little one.  He does so many things most 4 year olds wouldn't do.  He is a little trooper.  And that new haircut!  What a handsome little man!

The big haircut of 2012

The other day we were driving and I looked in the rear view mirror and commented on how long Lane's hair has gotten in the last 2 weeks.  I commented, "didn't we just get you a haircut?"  Lane's response was "I'm pretty sure I'm not a girl."  I had to laugh.  That was a pretty funny response for a 3 year old.  I decided it was time to cut it off.  For all of you who know his personality the hair just fit.  But we I needed a change.  So we headed out to get a haircut after Aaron got home from work.  Lane's only request was to go to the place that gives away balls.  So off we went...

Here he is, thrilled that he got a ball in the end.

Doesn't he look so handsome.  My baby looks so much bigger now.  Everyone really loves it, although some miss his cute little surfer look.
