This is the most recent photo of Lane, it is really hard to capture a good shot of an infant. He looks like he is smiling but we haven't seen an official one just yet. He is growing so fast and had several nice rolls on his arms and legs. Including a forearm and calf roll. I love the baby fat!
Zackary and Lane got a wagon from Nana and Papa for Christmas. We have enjoyed all the walks we have taken. Zackary is so good about letting Lane take up most of the room. The Wagon spent several days in our house, the minute he saw it we had to take him for a ride. It is now housed in our garage or we would have to walk all day pulling a wagon.
This is a beautiful photograph of my Grandma and Grandpa Carlson. Still In Love and holding hands after 61 years. They recently celebrated their anniversary on November 25th. What great roll models for all of us. I hope all my friends and family will feel this way after 61 years.
I love you.
We had both the Allan family party and the Carlson family party at our house this year. Aaron and I enjoy hosting parties at our house, we decided to take on both this year. They both turned out to be a blast and went very well, everyone helped out and made it really easy for us. These are actually my cousins but much closer in age to Zackary, they were having a great time playing in the mud together. What a mess!
We had a wonderful Christmas this year, what fun to have kids and see their eyes light up when the get something good. I know every year will just get more fun. Zackary did well opening presents this year, he was pretty into it. Lane enjoyed this nap by the tree and snuggling with Daddy while we opened presents. Zackary got a "manly" cooking set, a play BBQ. He loves it and always says "Bubbas cookin"
This is Zackary's famous potato art. We are taking bids for anyone who would like to purchase a famous potato. You gotta love the randomness of his creations.
Yesterday we had Laura, Glen, and Lauren over to decorate Christmas Cookies. Laura made the cookies and I made frosting. We ended up with brown, bright pick, blue, green, and purple frosting thanks to Aaron and Glen, not really Christmas colors, but it tasted great. Zackary ate more than he decorated. We had a great time and will start making this a family tradition (or joining Aunt Lou's).
Look at these beautiful Blues. These pictures were taken by Tami of Tami Proffitt Photography (there is a link to her blog in my favorites. She is amazing, and has taken the most beautiful photos of our family. I can't post too many, I don't want to spoil our Christmas cards and announcements. These are just a few of my favorites.
This is Monkey, aka Kaki. My boys.
Yesterday we celebraded Zackary's 2nd Birthday. Where has the time gone? We had a great time with friends and family. We had a small party at our house, Papa brought the jumpy house, kiddy table and chairs, a hot dog cooker, and a helium tank for the balloons. The kids, (and adults) spent most of the time in the jumpy house, what a HIT that was. We celebrated with a construction theme, Zackary's favorite. The kiddos drank out of these little cone cups and we had a famous ice cream cake from Baskin Robbins (oreo). I think his favorite part of the cake was the construction trucks on top of the cake. Notice the hand reaching for the tractor. Zackary actually ate his cake with the excavator bucket and the tractor bucket. It was quite comical. Thanks to everyone that celebrated with us and brought Zackary such great gifts. It is wonderful to know how much he is loved by everyone.
Zackary, we love you so much, you bring such joy to us everyday. We are amazed everyday at what you can do and how much you have grown up in the last two years. You are such a beautiful, sweet, funny, and lovable child. Each day is amazing. We love you, Mom & Dad.
This is Aaron's thing...dress Zackary up in the most bizarre, backwards, way too small outfits... come show me... so I can either laugh or get annoyed at him being in some outrageous outfit.
Zackary and I were enjoying a little left over ice cream cake from my birthday. I figured I had a minute to run and check email really quick, he was contained in a chair and happily eating. I return about 2 minutes later and find this. The ice cream had been smeared all over the tray (I believe he was finger painting) shoes were off, Otis was cleaning up the floor, and he happily says to me "Otis got it!" This is our battle everyday, Otis eating, not only scraps but half our meals, and he is supposed to be on a diet. I couldn't help but to laugh.
We ventured out on our first walk using our new double stroller. We just can't believe we have "kids." We just went to the little park in our neighborhood. Baby Lane thoroughly enjoyed it as you can see. Of course he slept through the entire outing, just like he always does.
Check out the grip on that hand. He was sucking a finger and white knuckling with the other hand, it wasn't about to go anywhere.
This was Zackary's first time holding baby Lane. He was so excited. He just loves him. Hopefully it stays this way. I'm sure we are in for some exciting wrestling sessions in the future...
How can you ask for a better family. These are my boys, all so cute and sweet. I love them so much, who would have ever thought I would have such a wonderful family, be completely out numbered and absolutely love it.
Zackary is enjoying the big brother thing. We are reading to the baby, playing with him, torturing him, snatching his pacifier, but all with good intentions. He is doing very well with the baby. We just need to watch what he shares (fruit snacks... probably not the best). This is so wonderful.
