Sundays

This is usually how we spend our Sundays. Who ever wakes up first and the first child to wake up heads to Basha's to pick up Starbucks and donuts. Zackary always makes a huge mess of his donut and chocolate milk. I think it is so funny that we have to get him a drink at Starbucks or he gets said and says "where is my coffee." He is already addicted!
We venture out for some fun outsides. Luckily it is cooling off so we can actually stand it outside. What his is about kids that the heat doesn't bother them at all?
We are growing watermelon in our little garden. All of the sudden we have so many growing. We finally got the courage to pick one. It was mighty tasty! We sat out in the grass and ate our very own watermelon.

Dirty Boys

Now that the weather if finally cooling off we have been spending much more time outside. The only hard thing is that Lane Loves to eat and/or taste all the rocks. I keep telling him they all taste the same but he doesn't seem to believe me. I love the blue eyes these guys have.

Soccer

Zackary started soccer today. It is Scoccertots, a parent involved 2 year old class. It was really fun, Aaron and Zackary got to run drills and kick the ball around. Lane and I baked on the sidelines, but enjoyed watching them.

After,we spent some time playing at Tumbleweed park.

Graduation

Zackary had his first graduation. His tested out of ISR swimming today. I cannot believe that he has learned to swim in the last 6 weeks. I took him about 2 weeks to really start to enjoy it. From then on he asked about it everyday. It was quite the commitment, 10 minutes a day, 5 days a week, for 6 weeks. Wow, I can't believe I passed! It is worth every minute of it.

ISR consists of 2 days of testing, one in summer clothes and one in winter clothes. This is because if they were to fall in, most likely it would not be in a swimsuit. It just proves that they can swim in clothes and shoes and make it to the edge of a pool.

Zackary jumped in, swam for a little, flipped over to float for air, then swam to the instructor. It was so amazing, I got chills. I am so proud of him!

Whoa hair

I just had to show off Lane's CRAZY hair. He usually has a natural comb over regardless of the way we comb it. But lately, its just out of control!

Tupperware

Well, Lane discovered the tupperware drawer. This means for the next year or so we will have tupperware scattered all over our house. The rest of the cabinets are locked of course, but we figured tupperware entertainment is a must for a baby.

NO Naps

This is what we get on no nap days. A completely exhausted 2 year old. He officially crashed. We are in a transition of not napping. He literally goes and goes and goes all day and then crashes around 7. My mom says it is pay backs! Otherwise, he gets a nap and is ready to party until 10 pm, which, well, ummm, is WAY to late for him (or maybe us). He is always pleasant to goes MANIC late at night. I just thought this was the cutest thing. Aaron and I were having dinner and put on a movie for him, the last thing he asked was "what am I watching." The the next thing we find is this, Monkey as his pillow and he was fast asleep on our coffee table.

I love it.

The Cabin

All the fun things to do at the cabin. We had such a great time this weekend. We had a couple of firsts. Went fishing with Opa, fed the birds, took long walks in the forest, enjoyed good company, and relaxed. Aaron and I even got to go on a little date. We headed into Flagstaff for a movie. Now that is my kind of camping!

Practice

I've been practicing with my new camera to try a few things.
1. Figure it out
2. Test different settings
3. Capture the true moment
Here are a couple of fun shots of the kids, yes all the kids!

NICE!

So BIG

We had another first captured right at the moment. We spent the weekend up at Aaron's parents cabin. Lane decided he wanted to show off for everyone and do SO BIG for the first time. It was so exciting, especially with everyone there to witness it. I absolutely love this age. The interaction, smiles, babbling, crawling, new tricks, and affection. He is interacting so much with us and his big brother. He is fascinated by Zackary and likes to be in all the action.

First Hair Cut

Well, I did it. Lane's got his first haircut. I know it seems early but the top was getting crazy! It was about 4 inches long and kept getting into his eyes and tickling his face. I was getting Zackary a haircut and asked if she would just trim the top a little. He didn't mind at all and sat quite still for a 9 month old. He looks so handsome.

Dedication

We had Lane dedicated at Sun Valley Community Church on Sunday August 23. There was a beautiful ceremony and service. Thanks to everyone for your support and joining us in this special celebration.

A family photo, these sure don't happen often.

Zackary and Reese getting into the treats again!

Lane was a trooper, no afternoon nap, party, and he managed to stay very happy. Well, he is always happy with Nana. By the end of the party he was passed out in Nana's arms and went right to bed. We had such a great time getting together with family and great friends.

Waiting

This is how we come home to Otis waiting for us. He sits patiently just on the edge of the carpet usually with a Wienie toy. He will sit there stomping his feet and making funny growling sounds until you go pet him and say hi. I'm not sure where he learned this, but it is sure a nice greeting from a dog.

Push ups

Remember push ups or push pops? Well we just rediscovered them this summer and the kids love them. This is Zackary's friend Miss. R, these two are always off playing together and getting themselves into things, usually treats of course. We were swimming (naked of course) and eating push ups, they might have enough dye in them to stain the pool water, but they were sure tasty. And if you are looking closely at the pool, yes that is duct tape in several places.

Avocado

Everyone must have one of these pictures. Green mush all over the place! Lane loves eating avocado however it usually ends up everywhere, well most things end up everywhere, but this takes the cake.

This is his sign for all done. He hasn't quite figured out the sign language thing so he motorboats and karate chops. This boy is fast, he gets you every time!

Sleeping

I came home from work one night and this is what I found. Aaron and Zackary snoozing, poor Zackary he is really in the 'line of fire.' We are in such a weird schedule with sleeping these last couple of months. Zackary isn't quite ready to give up naps, so we end up either needing to go to bed with him or he stays up until 9-10. Way too late for a 2 year old! Some days we nap, some days we push through, sometimes he just falls asleep watching a show...it really is a guessing game. I'm sure we will be ending the official 'nap time' soon.
