Cutie Patootie

Baby Lane is such a little social guy. He loves when anyone will come and chat with him. This was a few shots of him chatting with me the other day. I love the one at the bottom with the half smile while cooing. So cute XOXO.

Playing!

We spent a lot of time the other day outside. We are doing a lot more at home lately with baby Lane and the whole potty training thing. Which by the way is going excellent!
I'm not sure what the obsession with water is, oh and coloring with marker all over EVERYTHING. Notice it all over his leg, it was all over his face, arms, and the patio. I try to get him to use the paper only, however it seems to get everywhere. I can just give him the hose with a little water running and we have hours of entertainment. I know, what a waste of water you're thinking, I agree, but he just has so much fun.

This is little Otis, exhausted after all the coloring.

Good Friends

The Edams came over the other night for dinner, the funny thing was that we invited them over but didn't make it to the grocery store. They had to stop on their way over, pick up all the ingredients, and bring the wine...oh they also brought the dessert! I guess you can do that with good friends? We love you guys! Aaron did however do the cooking with the assistance of Cody. Despite the great dinner, Zackary had to have a peanut butter and jelly sandwich, he says "stawbery jewy samich." If you ask him to ask nicely, we get "ask nicely" instead of please. It might be the funniest thing I've ever heard. He also has the cutest thank you after pretty much everything you hand him, sometimes I give him things just so I can hear 'ask nicely' and 'thank you.'
These are pictures of Zackary and Ryan watching the famous Diego and playing. They are becoming such good friends and play pretty well together. I tend to hear Ryan's house? or Ryan over? So cute, he is making good friends already.

Western Powerline Trail

Today was the opening of Western Powerline Trail Park in downtown Gilbert that Aaron designed. This is just on of the 3 water features that he designed. Yes, he did it all, down to each bolt holding it together. This job has been going on for several years and has caused tons of grief, but all worth it. It turned out amazing. Gilbert now has great public art and beautiful parks to enjoy downtown. This is my favorite water feature of the 3. I have to say my husband is AMAZING at what he does. Sometimes I give him a hard time about what he does all day, (he knows way too much random information) but he really does work...heehee. Aaron, congratulations on the completion of the parks in Gilbert, I am so proud of you and your work. You show true talent. Thanks to everyone for supporting him and J2 and joining us for the opening of the parks.

Sleeping?

I woke up this morning with lots of boys in the bed (sounds exciting eh.) As I look back at this picture, where were Aaron and I sleeping? Lane loves to sleep on his belly, especially in the early morning. I know it is really bad to put him in bed pretty much every morning, but he sleeps so well on his belly and I am too paranoid not to have him right next to me. Zackary is now climbing out of his crib after every nap and night to come get us. His famous words "bubba good nap" regardless if how long he slept. We need to transition to a bed, the plan is after potty training is successful. He fell back asleep with us this morning, I love the snuggling in the morning, nothing beats those moments.

I just thought this was a cute picture of baby Lane. I can't believe how much he is changing everyday.

Day 2 A Success!

This is our celebration picture. We made it though another day with no accidents. Does that make it official? Is he Potty Trained? We stayed home from Rolly Pollies today just to make sure we focused all of our time to practicing. Liz, Ryan, and Katelyn came over and he still told me when he needed to go. I was so proud. I did however miss one time, but he pulled down the undies and peed outside in the rocks. I guess boys can do that right? I had to give him credit, he was outside and needed to go, we did show him how to do that. I just had to show off his boxer briefs, they are too cute.

This one's for Anjee

Yes, we have rocks in cages in our yard. They look pretty cool though right? We like them. We have one's for decorations, seats, and fountains. I know they are different but it adds so much to the yard. You need to come over sometime to see. Heehee rocks in cages. Sometimes they try to escape!

Baby Lane's Safety

I feel like much of my day is dedicated to keeping baby Lane safe. Notice in the photo, now you understand. I really can't leave him anywhere. The minute I turn around Zackary (and Aaron, heehee) is trying something, all with good intentions, he is just being a 2 yr old (30 yr old). He doesn't quite grasp the concept of being gentle or personal space when it comes to Lane. Lane is tough though, watch out for paybacks someday! I busted out the bumbo today, works great! These are the best little chairs, they are perfect for this age when they can't do much but are interested in everything and attempting to be social. Lane our little social guy loved it.

Day 1 A Success!

Today was Day 1 of Potty Training Boot Camp. I call it this because...Cold Turkey, we have no diapers or pull ups. I have never been one to follow a book, but this one just clicked with me. We are only wearing a shirt and big boy underwear. Today went GREAT! NO ACCIDENTS! We only had a dribble in one pair of underwear. The book said to have 20-30 pairs on hand, me, oh prepared one, had 9, but a proud mommy, we only used 2. Diego and Spiderman were the favorites today. We also have some boxer briefs that might be the cutest things I have ever seen. It will be interesting tonight, Diego underwear and jammies only. Wish us luck.
This is how Zackary has chosen to use the toity. It worked out perfect.

This is baby Lane getting set down with the numerous trips to the potty today. He was a trooper and went along with it very well.

Baby Blues

This picture just doesn't do him justice, he has beautiful baby blues. His eyes matched his little jammies and blanket. You can see the little grin under the pacifier. This is just after he rolled over. I'm not sure if it counts but it happened twice right in a row. I'm second guessing because the first time I thought "oh I must not have put you all the way on your tummy?" I rolled him back over and again he was on his back shortly after. Sounds like it was a first to me? You gotta love Otis joining in on the blanket outside.

25 Random Things

This is for all of you that stalk the blog that are not on Facebook. I am using the blog like a journal, sorry to post boring things that don't matter, but that is what a blog is for right? This was a note I was asked to write on Facebook by several friends and thought you might enjoy it.

1. I will never borrow money again or use credit cards, Dave Ramsey changed my life.
2. I should never say never, I do drive a minivan now!
3. I love my minivan, yes it makes me officially a mom but automatic doors rock!
4. I love being a mom, even more than I could have ever imagined.
5. I enjoy blogging and I'm addicted to facebook, they are my out.
6. I am not a fan of reading, I have great intentions, I have bought tons of books and never read them, my mind wanders too much or I fall asleep.
7. I do great on very little sleep, until I sit still and I can fall asleep anywhere.
8. I have the cutest yorkie ever, Otis.
9. I feel like time stands still when I hold my baby.
10. Holding a baby is one of the most relaxing things.
11. I could have 20 babies, they are so sweet, I will be lucky to get one more.
12. I won't ever run my own business again, who knew it would be so much work.
13. I love to go shopping.
14. I can't stay home for more that 1 day. I have to go somewhere, even if it is someones house or even the grocery store. I know weird.
15. I can't wait to do a medical mission someday, I would love to help people in other countries that truly appreciate it.
16. Sometimes as a nurse you feel like a glorified waitress.

19. I love when Aaron has his 'chops' I make him grow them out.
20. I have learned more in the last 4 years than in my entire college education.
21. Red wine is my thing, I could drink it with everything, even chicken and waffles, which by the way Rocked!
22. I like to clean when something is really dirty, I love to see how bad it was, my Dyson rocks.
23. I ran a half marathon and rode the MS 150 without training, I was really hurting after both, you would have thought I learned my lesson with the half marathon.
24. I am a really bad speller, spell check ruined me, sorry for spelling errors, it wasn't Chandler High's fault.
25. I want to drive the incredibly large Caterpillar scraper someday, I think it will be my next career.

NOTE on #24 When I was blogging about Lane and his raspberries, I didn't know there was a 'p' in the word, and I just found several misspellings that I had to fix. I think I'm and idiot.

What's going on

This is what is going on at my house right now.
Lane is loving
'airplane' I couldn't capture a smile but he gets so happy and smiley.

Zackary is wearing Diego underwear. I'm not sure if it is potty training time, but he sure shows all the signs. So today, since it is warm out, he is playing in underwear only. Cold turkey works best right? He is sure excited to wear the underwear. Gotta love the boots with them. We will see how it goes today.

Our Home Garden

We, I mean Aaron has started a home garden on our wasted side yard. Here is some pictures of the start We have tomatoes, peppers, strawberries, cilantro, bell peppers, and more. We will be planting more in the next couple of months. Zackary has finally learned to pick only the red 'namatoes', we occasionally find green ones chewed and spit out by the plant.

Additional Brilliant 2 yr old Ideas

I come outside to find Zackary with the dish soap and the scrubby that we use for dishes cleaning the back patio. He says, "cleaning mommy." I just had to laugh, what are you going to do.
Next we have Zackary's new favorite thing, dragging his chairs every where to get into something. He has go go gadget arms and can reach anything regardless of where we put it. Now he is taking his chair every where to get into more things we thought were safe, I have learned there are no safe areas with a climbing 2 yr old. He had taken his chair outside to the fence and was trying to scale it, NICE! Check out the grin, he was so proud.

Thai Food Night

This is Aaron's beautiful Thai food dinner night presentation. He is all about the presentation, whereas I'm about the good ol cookin I grew up with. He made an awesome dinner for Mary, Steven, and I. We were all quite impressed, especially after we knew he wasn't using a recipe. I will admit, I get a little scared every time he makes something, no recipe, random ingredients, and lots of dishes, but the outcome is always amazing. Who knew?

Raspberries

Baby Lane is beginning to blow raspberries for us. This is one of my favorite milestones. I just love the fact that they have to wear a bib for all the drool that comes with the continuous raspberries. Oh so sweet!

Great 2 year old Ideas

I know Zackary is going to hate me someday for posting this but I can't get over the muscles on this kiddo. He's not even flexing for me. Suppose he is going to be a strong one?

This was a great idea he had the other day, trying to sit in the window naked. I had to stop it because I could just see it ending in tears. We are getting close, at least I think, to some potty training. He is showing all the signs but isn't following through. We have tried to get him to go outside but unfortunately it has been a little cold. The other day he told me "pee in the grass" so I took him outside, he tried, but no luck, maybe next time.

Playing

I just thought this was so cute. Zackary and Lane are showing good signs of playing well together. Lane loves to watch Zackary play and Zackary really enjoys showing Lane new toys, sometimes a little too close but with good intentions. Lane is getting so strong, he was watching Zackary for quite a while propped up so well. He's growing up so fast.
